St. Monica is committed to the education of the whole child. With this in mind, we have developed a list of Schoolwide Learning Expectations for our students
We seek to form St. Monica Elementary School graduates as
Spiritually Strong Students who:
- Make their Catholic faith an integral part of their lives
- Practice personal prayer and participate in Eucharistic celebrations
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and follow His example
- Respect life, the world in which we live, and the religious traditions of others
- Participate in Christian Service activities to help others
- Use and understand the Holy Bible and various Scripture passages
Intellectual Students who:
- Think critically, creatively, and independently
- Articulate ideas clearly and communicate effectively through both written and oral language
- Organize and manage time effectively
- Make appropriate use of technology and other resources
- Understand and apply math skills and verbalize mathematical thinking
- Demonstrate pride in their ability to learn and achieve
Confident Students who:
- Maintain qualities of honesty, personal and social responsibility, reverence, self discipline, and gratitude
- Possess a positive sense of self worth and recognize their strengths and talents
- Have a strong character, make good decisions, and stand up for what is right
- Demonstrate caring and loving concern for one another
Socially Integrated Students who:
- Recognize and appreciate each other's unique talents and abilities
- Respect one another as equals
- Act morally with kindness and compassion

Physically Aware Students who:
- Maintain a positive outlook regarding their physical well-being and development

- Affirm the value of personal safety and acknowledge the consequences of substance abuse
