St. Monica is committed to the education of the whole child. With this in mind, we have developed a list of Schoolwide Learning Expectations for our students

We seek to form St. Monica Elementary School graduates as

Spiritually Strong Students who:

  • Make their Catholic faith an integral part of their lives
  • Practice personal prayer and participate in Eucharistic celebrations
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and follow His example
  • Respect life, the world in which we live, and the religious traditions of others
  • Participate in Christian Service activities to help others
  • Use and understand the Holy Bible and various Scripture passages

Intellectual Students who:

  • Think critically, creatively, and independently
  • Articulate ideas clearly and communicate effectively through both written and oral language
  • Organize and manage time effectively
  • Make appropriate use of technology and other resources
  • Understand and apply math skills and verbalize mathematical thinking
  • Demonstrate pride in their ability to learn and achieve

Confident Students who:

  • Maintain qualities of honesty, personal and social responsibility, reverence, self discipline, and gratitude
  • Possess a positive sense of self worth and recognize their strengths and talents
  • Have a strong character, make good decisions, and stand up for what is right
