Guidance Department
Welcome to the Guidance Department!
The goal of the guidance department is to help foster the growth and personal development of each student at St. Monica Catholic High School. We encourage our students to be well-rounded young adults who create and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Each student is assigned a counselor who will follow his/her progress from freshman through senior year. Generally, students are scheduled to meet with their counselors once each semester, but students may also make an appointment with his/her counselor at any time. Parents are also encouraged to contact their son’s/daughter's counselor should the need arise. The counselors serve the needs of the students in the areas of academic, career, college, and personal counseling. To provide these services, counselors help students identify long term goals and objectives (e.g., college and career counseling). First, we advise students with planning their academic, extra-curricular, and sports schedules at St. Monica. Second, we counsel students to focus on attending a four-year university or college. Third, we provide guidance for developing student interests and recognizing future career options. Lastly, we assist students in meeting the challenges of academic and teenage life and help them develop coping skills.
