Student Government
The purposes of the Associated Student Body (ASB) are to establish a Christian community, to establish and maintain a line of communication between the students and the administration, to develop student leadership and encourage student initiative, to encourage positive and meaningfully activities, to promote school spirit, to develop understanding of the democratic process and to provide opportunities for policy decision making, and to create awareness of the larger community around us.” (SMCHS ASB Constitution, Article III).
All registered students of SMCHS are members of the Associated Student Body. The Executive Branch of the ASB is vested in the executive council which is composed of the ASB President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and the Commissioners of Athletics, Social Events, Fine and Performing Arts, Publicity, and Clubs and Organizations. Each grade level has a class council consisting of Class President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Officer-at-Large. Failure to perform the duties of an office may result in suspension or dismissal from that office. Only students with cumulative GPA of 2.5 may apply to serve.
