Holiday & Seasonal Outreach

The St. Monica Catholic Community augments its observance of particular holidays and seasons by offering relevant outreach opportunities.

The holiday season kicks off in fall with our annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Boutique for the Needy. Started in 1979, this celebration is a wonderful way to share a holiday of abundance with our community neighbors—in recent years, we have served over 1,000 guests!

We then enter into the anticipatory and joyful season of Advent as we prepare to celebrate Christmas. As part of our Advent outreach, St. Monica (1) collaborates with the St. Joseph Center Family Program to ensure that St. Joseph Center families have a holiday dinner, a family gift, and toys for their children, (2) conducts a toy drive that delivers toys to local schoolchildren in need, and (3) hosts a holiday carnival for the families from the St. Joseph Center.
