Speaker Presentations
Throughout the year our Peace and Justice ministries will host speaker presentations, faith sharing, prayer and retreat opportunities that will expand our knowledge of our faith’s call to justice and provide information on opportunities for outreach and service to the poor.
Just Faith to View the Golden States of Grace Exhibit
The Exhibit runs from September 23, 2011 through November 13, 2011 and features photos on Faith and Prayer from the perspective of marginalized communities. Dennis Hardwick and Lynn Kurata are leading the caravan from St. Monica on Sunday, November 13th where not only do you get a chance to view the exhibit but we will participate in an Interfaith Service at 11am.
Those wishing to carpool can meet up with Dennis in the St. Monica Parking lot (look for him outside, in the alley side of the Duval Center) at 10am.

Homeless Memorial Service
St. Monica will once again host the annual Homeless Memorial Service, an interfaith prayer service sponsored by the Westside Shelter and Hunger remembering all those Homeless individuals who have died on our streets on Sunday, November 13th at 2:30pm at Reed Park located at 1122 7th Street, Santa Monica,90403.
We gather on the North central end of the park for the service and refreshments follow at St. Monica at Duval Center 1 right across the street. If you have the name of someone you would like remembered (For reasons of confidentiality we can only announce first names and the first initial of the last names at the service.) please contact Christine Gerety at christine@stmonica.net by Wednesday, November 9th.

A Small Gift
Join Holy Cross Africa Ministry and JustFaith Ministry on Wednesday, November 16 in the Trepp Center, for the screening of “A Small Act”, Winner of the 2010 Humanitas Prize for Documentary. This 90-minute film explores how one small act can create limitless possibilities. 6:30pm refreshments, film starts at 7:00pm. Discussion will follow.
