Young Ministering Adults (YMA)
Young Ministering Adults (YMA) is for singles and couples in their 20s and 30s and provides spiritual, educational and social activities as well as programs that support young adults as they discover new roles in family, work, society and the Catholic Church. YMA makes a place for you in the Church and encourages you to share your talents and gifts with our parish and the community beyond. Come join us for fellowship and fun!
A team of young adults along with a staff coordinator coordinate all activities for the ministry. Along with coordinating activities at the parish, the YMA Core Team makes it a priority to invite and welcome young adults to the community and to provide information to its leaders and participants. The ministry also seeks to improve involvement, participation, and integration of young adults at the parish and also advocates for the concerns of young adults today.

Vespers - Every Tuesday!
Vespers is an opportunity to nurture your spirituality with other young adults in their 20’s and 30’s from our community. We share prayer, scripture readings, and discussion of topics relevant to our lives as young Catholics. Every week we have a different topic, and we always welcome new young adults interested in learning more! Join us on Tuesday evenings promptly at 7:30 p.m. in the Spirituality Center.
Temescal Canyon Hike on Saturday, May 18
YMA invites you to take a hike through the gorgeous Temescal Canyon in nearby Topanga State Park. Come enjoy the clean crisp spring air. Highlights include an episodic waterfall, sweeping panoramic views of downtown LA to the vast Pacific Ocean, and a daring visit to Skull Rock. The hike is of moderate difficulty and about 4 miles long. Please come prepared with appropriate shoes, plenty of water, and snacks. Meet in St. Monica’s parking lot between 9:30 and 10:00am. We will depart promptly at 10:00 am. Volunteer drivers will be needed to carpool to the park and back. We should return by 2:00 pm and will end with an optional late lunch near St. Monica. Flappers and Fellas: A Great Gatsby-Themed Soiree on June 9
Please join us on Sunday, June 9, for our final YMA event of the spring season from 7 to 11 p.m. at Wokcano in Santa Monica. We will have most of the upstairs patio reserved for our group. In addition to great fellowship, there will be dancing and a raffle with great prizes from some of your favorite Santa Monica hot spots.
Cost: $25 per person; $30 after midnight on June 2; $35 after noon on June 7 and at the door.
Price of admission includes one drink plus light appetizers and one raffle ticket. You can also purchase additional food off the menu and additional raffle tickets. You will also get $5 special pricing on Stella and Wokcano's special Sangria througout the night. We encourage you to dress in Great Gatsby attire (think 1920s). Please no jeans or sneakers.
