Our Mission

The mission of St. Monica Catholic Community is "To form loving disciples who will transform the world". Ultimately serving this goal, the mission of our youth ministry is to create faith-based opportunities through education, sacraments and fellowship for all youth in our community and to develop, foster and support them on their faith journey.

We hope that our young people will be immersed in the experience of our parish community, and see themselves as a vital part of St. Monica, the Catholic Church, and the whole body of Christ. In our youth and teen ministry, we have fun and further discover our faith, while creating a fun and safe place for the Holy Spirit to work.

Our Ministries

Teen Confirmation

Teen Confirmation is a two year process of preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes meet every other Sunday (approx. 10 classes) from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and include participation in the 1:15 Youth Mass. Teens are also required to participate in an annual retreat.

The Year 1 program invites teens to gain a better understanding of the mission of the Catholic Church by participating and involving themselves in life of the faith community. The year 2 program guides teens to reflect upon the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives and discern how they will respond as disciples of Jesus in our world today.

Roots Teen Ministry

Our teen ministry is entitled Roots: because when we desire to be rooted in God we are able to produce kindness and peace, while still having fun and engaging in real world stuff...

Bridges Middle School Ministry

The St. Monica Middle School Ministry is entitled Bridges: the name comes from the fact that we connect with one another and to God through fun, friendship and faith. Open to all youth in grades 6-8, Bridges meets on the third Friday of each month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for fun, faith and fellowship. This year, youth at Bridges have had pumpkin carving contests, decorated gingerbread houses, written letters to a local children’s hospital, observed lent with a bonfire and so much more!

1:15 Youth Mass

Every Sunday,1:15 Youth Mass energizes parishioners with an incredible youth choir, and young people involved in almost every part of the Liturgy, from lectoring to hospitality.

On the first Sunday of each month you'll also hear a Gospel reflection from a teen as part of the homily. Our celebration continues on these First Sundays with a post-Mass social to celebrate our various Youth Ministry programs. All ages are welcome!
